“Quay’s feature debut is a visually stunning and occasionally disturbing meditation about the ghosts of French colonialism in contemporary Haiti. Full of dreamlike contrasts between documentary-style footage and perfectly poised and studied moments, the film finds its own rhythms and ways of suggesting ideas and emotions. Quay is definitely an artist to watch”
